Alpha-linolenic acid

library / Alpha-linolenic acid

Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) is an omega-3 fatty acid found most abundantly in canola oil.

As an essential fatty acid (EFA) it is not produced by the body and must be present in the diet to maintain health.

Alpha-linolenic acid is an important anti-inflammatory agent and a key player in immunity, vision, cell membranes, and the production of hormone-like compounds.
